Portrait Using Quick Mask Mode-Backgound Blur (A Work)

Chloe's arm with Amy in the background.
Originally it was just the blured background, But i wanted to add some more color.
This is a combonation of the Duotone assignment, the Quickmask assignment and the Layers assignment.
Chloe's arm ended up being a new layer. I did that using quick mask. I feathered the edges of that.
I sharpened that layer(Chloe's arm)
I had to use the Sponge tool to get rid of the background color.(Greyscale would have made the WHOLE image grey, which i did not want) Then i created a new layer and made it completely purple. Then i changed the opacity so the layer with Amy showed thru.
Finally i blured the background(Amy) a little.
Then i flattened the image and saved it.

Enhanced Landscape using Layers

Took when it just stopped raining when on my way to Penticton. Out of the car window. I didn't crop out the water droplets because I thought it would take away to the picture.
Made 2 layers, foreground and background.
Background was the sky. I burned some more dark spots in it with the brush.
With the foreground, I lighenined the mountain in spots, darkening it in others.
With the road and pilons, I used the sponge brush to bring out the grey tones.
Then i flattened the image and saved it.

Leading Dynamic Lines

Taken outside of the Bear Paw Cafe.
The lines on the floor lead nicely to Lexi. I also like how the doors are near her, drawing attention to her.

DuoTone

DuoTone picture. Of Derek in the hallways.
Touched up, cropped, sharpened and then greyscaled.
Then used the dualtone setting and used purple ^^
Then set back to RGB then used the quick mask mode, blurred the background and saved.

Tsubasa Manga Scan- Fai D Flourite

I tried using more layers than i usually do. And I also discovered the new layer button. It makes things SO MUCH EASIER!!! ^^
This took about 5 hours to complete. I think it turned out pretty good!! I plan on using the technoques I found out about in the future.

I DID NOT draw this. The credit goes to CLAMP. I only colored it and touched up the image.
